Our Own Definition of Fitness
Our Own Definition of Fitness

Everyone has his own definition of fitness and just like other beliefs it also relates to the way we were brought up and how our parents, teachers and loved ones viewed health and fitness. This definition is usually the result of our personal experiences and is what keeps us unhappy, overweight and full of excuses.

Without changing the concept of fitness in our mind we cannot expect to be fit. No matter how much wait we lose, eventually we will gain it all back because in our mind we feel that overweight is what we are destined to be. Other factors like lifestyle changes as well as ridicule and judgment from the family also adds to the pressure and as a result people start making excuses to relieve that pressure and in the end they get really good at it. The more excuses a person make, the more he starts believing those excuses and eventually those excuses turn into reality. Fear is also an important reason for these excuses.

The good news is that we can edit our definition of fitness at any time and as a result also discard our old ways of thinking.Once we make our own definition of fitness, one that involves proper exercise, diet and respect for our body. It is only then that we can expect a happy ending to our story. There are many things that can help us in our road to properly defining our fitness. Proper knowledge as well as positive self-talk and support partners are the necessary tools for resetting the mental aspect of our fitness and to get us moving in full speed towards our goal.
